Psychology of Women
So being that this is my last blogpost for the class I would like to dedicate this blog post to my class and Dr. Fairchild. Dr. Fairchild, you have been amazing this semester. I think you are an amazing professor because you keep the class interesting, but you still teach. I loved your class last semester because of you, and of course I wanted to take more with you. I honestly loved class this semester. It was honest, fun, and just great. I felt like I could say anything without any judgement whatsoever. I am not one to participate, if you can remember from last semester. However, this class was different I do not think there was a day in which I did not participate. It was not because of the grade either because I still do not really participate in classes that require it. I feel like I learned a lot from this class even it was just on being able to speak up. I already knew I was a feminist, but this class helped me solidify it. It helped me not just keep the title to myself, but also be able to proclaim it loud and proud. I honestly would recommend this class to anyone because it was amazingly informative and fun. It did not feel like a chore or some class that I had to drag myself to. I did not believe this could happen with a class that was not math or science, my favorites. You showed me a whole new world and honestly I would love to take another class with you, Dr. Fairchild. So I just wanted to thank you for being an amazing professor. Keep doing what you're doing because it works. I'll miss you soo much! Stay awesome!
Girl Power
I have this obsession with the show American Ninja Warrior where people compete on an impossible obstacle course which test their agility and strength. This show is primarily dominated by men since they are larger and have bigger wingspans then the girls so it is "easier" for them. However, throughout the most recent years girls have been stepping up to the plate such as Kacy Catanzara, Jessie Graff and so much more. Kacy Catanzara is 5 ft and 100 lbs soo she is so petite and nothing like these huge men that compete. That did not stop her because she was the first women to qualify and complete in the city finals. This gave her entry into the Las Vegas finals which is three stages and much harder. Here is a video of her competing Kacy Dallas finals. She did not make is pass the first stage of Vegas, but this was still an incredible thing. She worked her butt off for this. She deserved so much recognition and respect because most men could not even make it that far. The next super star is Jessie Grass who is a stunt double on SuperGirl. Last year she broke all of the records that Kacy set. She crushed the qualifiers in Las Vegas, fell in the finals but with her time and placement she moved onto to the trials in Vegas. Jessie Graff qualifiers Jessie Graff finals She then proceeded to make history as the first woman to complete Stage 1 of the Vegas Finals.Las Vegas stage 1 She made it pretty far in Stage 2 until she fell. This is still an amazing thing because not many people make it this far especially not women.Stage 1 Jessie Graff This show is soo empowering as a girl watching it. I am obsessed and every time I watch it I want to go work out. It just proves that with time and practice anyone can do anything. I highly recommend the show for everyone.

Gina Rodriguez Fight for Equality
Gina Rodriguez is an actress who is known for her role as Jane from the television show Jane the Virgin. She is a big advocate for equality whether it is racial or gender. She has said many times that she wants to be a successful actress in all senses not just as a Latina. She recently worked with LUNA on pushing a campaign for equal pay. She says three things women need to do are "Understand Your Worth," "Change Your Perspective," and "Start a Conversation." Women need to know their are valuable, hard workers and they deserve to be paid the same as men. They cannot stay silent because then they will get no where. They need to make themselves heard if they wish to see a change. She also does a video ad where she speaks of how women need to speak up and fight. She is seen practicing boxing, which just helps push the idea of female empowerment. She looks strong, and it motivates me to want to fight too.

Shameless... Purity Ball
Soo I just started watching the show Shameless, and it is very open about sex. There are multiple sex scenes, however that is not the point. There is a family made up of a father, mother and daughter. The father is very religious and is always lecturing his daughter. He tells his daughter he would give her a car if she were to renew her virginity and attend a purity balls with him. He starts to say this is his job to protect her and her virginity. He is very controlling and does not trust her to make any decisions. At the purity ball, the girls are forced to explain their sexual encounters to their fathers and everyone else in the room. They all seem embarrassed and uncomfortable because who wants to talk about their sexual encounters in front of their father. Most of the stories involve touching genitalia, but penetrative sex. However, when it comes to Karen the daughter she goes into detail about all the times she has oral sex and penetrative sex. Her father becomes enraged and calls her a whore. He basically destroyed her because after this she dyes and cuts her hair. She starts to have more sex and be more reckless with who she has sex with. It was a roller coaster because this father could not accept that his child was a sexual being.

If women were in charge
More videos, soo as I scrolled to facebook and saw a video about what would happen if women were in charge of the government. The video starts with a bunch of women surrounding a table saying they need to make laws which will ensure that men will make the right choices. So its basically what the lawmakers do now since they do not trust us to make the right decisions when it comes to our bodies such as health care or abortions. They say that men can cum or produce sperm unless it is to produces life. They also go on to say there should be an extra tax to their products just like there is on females' products, the pink tax. There needs to be more testing on Viagra and physicians can pull it if they feel it goes against their religious belief. This is basically what happens with abortions and birth control. This video really puts in perspective what lawmakes do to women, but in a way that men can understand.

F**k It
In honor of International Women's Day a t-shirt company called FCKH8 did a promotion in which a series of young girls curse and say "Fuck it." They start off saying "pretty" and then they go on a tirade saying they aren't some pretty fucking helpless damsel in distress. They go on to address pay inequality, sexual assault, and other issues. This organization helps by donating proceeds to help fight inequality. Even better in the end there is a boy in a dress pointing out when it is said it is bad to act like a girl then you are just saying it is bad to be a girl. This video caught my attention because it is soo strange to see little girls in dresses cursing. I honestly loved it because it had my attention, and it was a great cause. However, not a lot of people felt the same way as you can tell from the comments under the video. An example is "Those who actually think that having young children dropping the F bomb is a good way of getting a point across or to share facts, you are absolutely delusional. This is ridiculous. A foul mouth gets you nowhere and doesn't make you a strong confident female." So basically people were offended by cursing, but that's not the point. Cursing is seen as unladylike which is why these girls were doing it. It was too show a contrast. I have a potty mouth, and I curse a good amount of the time. The amount of times I have had people say to me that is not ladylike and it makes me ugly is unfathomable. It is just crazy because curses are just words that we have put a negative connotation on.
